Information on Verde Energy - PUCO settlement.
FAQ
PUCO Staff alleged that Verde did not comply with certain rules regarding the marketing of electricity and natural gas services in Ohio. Additional information regarding the allegations can be found at this PUCO website: https://ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/site/media-center/news-and-events/puco-051819
Verde is working with PUCO Staff on a comprehensive compliance plan as part of restarting Verde’s marketing of our services in Ohio. As part of that plan, we will have numerous checks in place to protect consumers. For example, Verde Energy will use third party verifiers to confirm the terms and conditions of each new enrollment. In addition, welcome calls will be made to every enrollment as an additional quality check. Further, customers can always contact Customer Care to talk to a representative about our services or to cancel their service.
The settlement requires that Verde send refunds to a certain subset of current/former customers based on their Verde rates vs. a comparison rate as defined in the settlement with PUCO. Customers due a refund will be notified of their eligibility and the amount of their refund by a written notice delivered to the customer’s account address via USPS mail.
Customers eligible for a refund will be notified via USPS mail (see above).
